Culinary Team Member

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cook to join our team at Sienna Senior Living. As a critical member of our culinary team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional dining experiences for our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals and snacks according to production sheets, recipes, and menu documents.
- Monitor the quality of food supplies and advise the team leader of any issues or concerns.
- Assume responsibility for departmental operations, including menu changes and requisitioning food and supplies, in the absence of the team leader.
- Assist in the orientation and training of new team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 minimum education required.
- A valid Safe Food Handling Certificate and/or Smart Serve certificate.
- Experience with cooking in institutional, health care, restaurant, or hospitality settings.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude necessary to meet the goals and standards of the residence.
- All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduate of a recognized college food preparation program and willing to Red Seal certify.
