About the Role:
This position is an exciting opportunity to join the University of Saskatchewan's Culinary Services team as a key member of our kitchen operations. As a Culinary Team Member, you will play a vital role in assisting our chefs and kitchen supervisors in preparing and serving high-quality meals to our students, faculty, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of hot and cold foods, including menu items and special requests, under the guidance of our experienced chefs and kitchen supervisors.
- Contribute to the development and presentation of creative and visually appealing dishes, ensuring a high level of quality and presentation.
- Work collaboratively with our kitchen team to ensure seamless service, including covering shifts and assisting with special events.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to our high standards of food safety and sanitation.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in food preparation and presentation.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities to meet deadlines.
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
- Culinary Arts diploma, apprenticeship training, or Red Seal Cook Certificate an asset.
- Food Safe Certificate and WHIMIS Certificate required.
- Minimum two years of experience working in a commercial kitchen setting or full-service food service operation.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic kitchen environment.
- Exceptional work ethic and ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member.
