About the Role:

The Alberta Health Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead the clinical operations for the Emergency Department, Inpatient Surgery, and Trauma programs at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. This key leadership role will oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of operational systems to ensure seamless patient flow throughout the continuum of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement operational systems to ensure patient flow and care continuity
  • Lead a large staff portfolio and manage a significant budget
  • Ensure fiscal responsibility and oversight of patient safety, staff safety and wellness, emergency preparedness, and patient flow
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, engagement, collaboration, appreciation, and inclusivity
  • Develop high-performing teams and lead with integrity, inspire others, and deliver on commitments
  • Build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Commit to continuous quality improvement and expertise in human and fiscal resource management

Requirements:

The successful candidate will possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a healthcare profession with a clinical background and a minimum of five (5) years successful progressive experience in an operational leadership role in a healthcare organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity.

Preferred Qualifications:

Graduate degree in health services leadership, business administration, or evidence of working to completion of the same. Previous Director/Executive Director experience leading operational zone and/or provincial programs.
