  • Deliver stories that stand out from the competition, emphasizing innovation and excellence.
  • Work under tight deadlines to file pitched stories, often within the same day.
  • Respond quickly and accurately to breaking news.
  • Voice, present, and chase stories for broadcast, appearing on-air as needed.
  • Interview experts, guests, and sources within the community.
  • Translate stories as required.
  • Participate in pitch meetings and contribute to the development of new ideas.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in journalism and media, with a strong track record of producing high-quality content.
  • On-air broadcast experience and a proven ability to work in a dynamic group environment.
  • Fluent in written and spoken Chinese, with a deep understanding of the cultural and political landscape in Canada and BC.
  • Experience writing, producing, and/or reporting broadcast news content, with a strong focus on storytelling and audience engagement.
  • Superior communication, writing, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient computer skills and a valid driver's license.
  • Degree or diploma in journalism or broadcasting, or equivalent experience.
