We are seeking a skilled Nursing Unit Clerk to join our team at Kelowna General Hospital. This permanent part-time position offers a wonderful working environment and opportunities for career advancement.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide administrative support to the nursing team, including prioritizing and processing physicians' orders;
- Act as a communication link for the unit, scheduling and coordinating patient/resident appointments;
- Assemble and maintain patient/resident charts, inputting data and transcribing information into relevant systems;
- Clerical duties, including keyboarding, data entry, filing, and preparing reports;
- Maintain timekeeping records for regular and relief staff and submit to payroll systems;
- Observe patient/resident call signals and relay messages to the appropriate personnel.
- Completion of Grade 12;
- A current Typing Test of 40 wpm or greater completed within the past 48 months from a recognized institution;
- A Nursing Unit Clerk Certificate;
- Ability to keyboard 40 wpm;
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing;
- Ability to deal with others effectively;
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position;
- Ability to organize work;
- Ability to operate related equipment;
- Ability to utilize a variety of computer software applications.
