We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Sault Area Hospital. As a key member of our Diagnostic Imaging Department, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective completion of ordered Nuclear Medicine examinations and the day-to-day operation of the area to which you are assigned.
Key Responsibilities- Perform imaging and in-vivo non-imaging and in-vitro procedures under the direction of the Technical Supervisor and Medical Directors.
- Conduct quality assurance procedures and report any significant changes.
- Provide appropriate patient preparation and care.
- Prepare and dispense radiopharmaceutical kits and administer radiopharmaceutical doses with proper venipuncture and maintain accurate records.
- Maintain the radiopharmaceutical laboratory, including receiving, logging, storing, and disposal.
- Follow appropriate protection procedures and adhere to AECB rules and regulations.
- Perform decontamination procedures and care for and maintain equipment and all work areas.
- Assist in organizing daily workloads and perform general office duties.
- Graduate from an Accredited School of Medical Radiation Technology (Nuclear Medicine)
- Registration in good standing with College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario
- M.R.I.T.O registration in Nuclear Medicine
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently as a team member in a fast-paced environment, with excellent customer service, interpersonal, and telephone skills.
- Computer literacy in a Microsoft environment.
- Ability to maintain successful working relationships with the interdisciplinary team to achieve positive patient outcomes.
- Ability to organize time effectively to perform the duties of the position.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate to perform the duties of the position.
- Sound knowledge of all Nuclear Medicine Procedures as ordered by a qualified practitioner, including but not limited to Cardiac exams and persantine studies.
