Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the financial operations of Westerner Park, a dynamic and rewarding non-profit organization. The successful candidate will lead a team of accounting professionals in maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of our financial processes.

About the Role

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash office management. They will also manage payroll administration, general accounting, and financial analysis and reporting. Additionally, they will ensure adherence to financial controls, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversight of daily operations, including AR, AP, and Cash Office
  • Management of payroll administration, including accurate and timely completion of payroll processing
  • Maintenance of accurate general ledger accounts and monitoring of cash flows and bank balances
  • Reconciliation of bank and balance sheet accounts, credit card and petty cash transactions
  • Preparation and posting of journal entries, generation of financial statements, and variance analysis
  • Financial analysis and reporting, including provision of detailed analysis of financial data to support decision-making
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, with combination of education and experience accepted
  • Minimum five years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles
  • Minimum two years of supervisory or leadership capacity, managing AR and/or AP functions
  • Experience with month end closing, financial reporting, and bank reconciliations
  • Proficient in accounting software, advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to manage sensitive financial information with discretion and confidentiality
