The Department of Economics at Thompson Rivers University invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in applied microeconomics. As a research faculty member, you will maintain an active research agenda while teaching five sections per academic year. Our department values a good relationship with our students, and our sections are generally less than 40 students. In the first year, the teaching load is reduced by one course. Research faculty receive start-up money for research activities.
About the Department of EconomicsThe Department of Economics is one of five departments in the Bob Gaglardi School of Business and Economics. We are a supportive and collegial team, with thirteen full-time faculty members. Our department offers and contributes to a wide range of programs, including undergraduate and graduate degrees in economics, as well as minors and post-baccalaureate diplomas.

QualificationsWe seek applicants researching in the area of applied microeconomics, with a preference for fields related to public policy. A demonstrated strong potential for excellence in scholarly research and teaching is required. Applicants should normally have an earned doctorate in Economics, although PhD candidates who are close to completion will also be considered.
Application ProcessAssessment of applications will begin in October 2024 and will continue until the position is filled. Interested applicants must submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statement of research interest, and examples of scholarly research. Short-listed applicants will be required to provide at least three letters of reference and reference contact information, as well as a copy of transcripts at the time of an interview or preferably before.
