Key Responsibilities

The Data Insights Manager for Strategic Business Growth will be responsible for managing and leveraging syndicated information sources to drive timely business decisions across Maple Leaf Foods' Commercial teams in North America. This role will ensure the effective use of data and insights from available sources, enhancing the company's analytic capabilities through continuous development and improvement of tools and processes.

Specific Tasks
  • Manage relationships with syndicated information suppliers to define and acquire appropriate data sources meeting the changing needs of the organization in Canada and the US.
  • Maintain data sources to prevent issues with data integrity.
  • Collaborate with external supplier organizations' analytic teams; manage research requests to ensure deliverables meet expectations and external resources are appropriately deployed.
  • Develop and deliver ongoing training programs for marketing and sales staff to reinforce analytic excellence and improve continuously.
  • Cultivate coaching skills for marketing and sales staff to develop their expertise in effectively using information.
  • Partner with Information Services to create and implement research tools that leverage current technologies like AI, improving efficiency and effectiveness in mining big data sets.
  • Liaise with Customer Insights colleagues to optimize the use of retailer/loyalty databases where necessary to complete discrete analyses.
  • Lead cross-category analyses and summaries for use by Senior Leadership, Board of Directors, and Investor communications.
  • Establish thought leadership presentations on emerging trends and shifting consumer behaviors impacting MLF's business.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • 5+ years' experience generating insights using NIQ and/or Circana data sources.
  • Bachelor's degree or MBA with a focus on Marketing, Market Research, and/or Statistics.
  • Experience in coaching/training to develop others' analytic knowledge and capabilities.
  • Advanced skill in developing analytic applications that utilize current technology.
  • Exemplary communication skills: written, verbal, and presentation.
  • Thorough understanding of database structures, particularly NIQ or Circana market measurement services as well as household panel data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications: Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI.
  • A positive, curious, creative, and innovative mindset with the ability to energize and influence others.
  • Strong business acumen, self-motivation, and prioritization skills to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to form strong internal and external relationships and work collaboratively.
  • Proactivity, performance-driven approach, bias for action, and adaptability under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
