Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse implements the residential care plans for each client/resident and performs all general nursing duties to enhance the physical, mental, and social care of the clients/residents within the LPN scope of practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each client/resident.
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, wound care, and vital sign monitoring.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients/residents to identify their physical, emotional, and social needs.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure comprehensive care and support.
  • Document client/resident progress and care provided in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the province of British Columbia.
  • Minimum six (6) months of experience in palliative care or a related field.
  • Industry-recognized Food Handlers and Sanitation Course certification.
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention course certification preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Ability to empathize with clients/residents who may be experiencing abuse, poverty, grief, and loss.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position, including lifting and transferring clients/residents.
