Job Title: Child Care Centre Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Child Care Centre Supervisor to join our team at Safari Kid. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our child care centre, ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality care.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, keeping them informed of their child's progress and any concerns.
  • Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Order supplies and equipment, ensuring the centre is well-stocked and equipped to meet the needs of our children.
  • Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records, maintaining accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems, preparing reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  • Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings, ensuring a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Establish guidelines for behaviour, promoting a positive and respectful atmosphere.
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children, staying informed and up-to-date on centre activities.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
  • Plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours.
  • Supervise and co-ordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants.
Requirements:
  • Member of the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE).
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Organized and efficient in managing time and resources.
Working Conditions:
  • Work under pressure, meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results.
  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking, with regular breaks.
