We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Counsellor to join our team at BC Children's Hospital. As a Clinical Counsellor, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan, design, and deliver individual and group counselling sessions to patients, identifying their goals and expectations, and providing education and support to promote positive change.
- Conduct intakes, assessments, treatment planning, crisis intervention, consultations, and group therapy sessions, working collaboratively with colleagues and other healthcare professionals.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, taking into account the unique needs and circumstances of each patient.
- Provide education and training to patients and their families on various health topics, using a variety of teaching modalities, including videoconferencing.
- Collaborate with other members of the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans, and ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in program evaluation and quality improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for change and developing strategies to improve service delivery.
- Master's Degree in a health-related discipline, such as Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, or a related field.
- Specific training and certification applicable to the program area and patient population, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Two years of recent related work experience in community and/or hospital organizations, including experience working with the designated client population.
- Eligible for membership and registration in the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.
