Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Field Operations Manager. This is a contract role that will be responsible for leading a team of agriculture professionals and driving regional volume growth on farm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Regional Agricultural Practices: Develop and implement strategies to expand strong strategic partnerships with the farming community, ensuring optimal potato raw material value, operational efficiency, and consumer-winning quality.
- Drive Grower Relationships: Foster and maintain relationships with growers to support the growth in the supply of potatoes for our Coaldale site.
- Develop and Execute New Processes: Lead the development and implementation of new processes for raw receiving and grading in our expanded plant.
- Partner with Potato Supply Management: Collaborate with Potato Supply Management to coordinate raw material purchase and utilization, ensuring a sustainable grower base that meets our short and long-term growth goals.
- Direct Management: Directly manage and oversee the local field department staff, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to achieve their goals.
- Deliver Breakthrough Initiatives: Develop and implement initiatives that optimize raw material value, operational efficiency, and consumer-winning quality.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree: A degree in a relevant field such as agriculture, business, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 Years of Experience: A minimum of 7 years of experience in a related field, preferably in agricultural, manufacturing, and/or quality.
- Leadership Qualities: Strong leadership qualities and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to develop and nurture strong cross-functional and departmental relationships.
- Commercial Awareness: Strong commercial awareness and business acumen, with the ability to negotiate and manage relationships with growers and other stakeholders.
Travel: This role will require travel to various locations within the growing region, as well as occasional travel to other locations as business needs require.
