Job Summary:

The Director of Long Term Care Services is responsible for overseeing the operational management of the Niagara Region's Long-Term Care Homes and Assisted Living facilities. This role involves ensuring the effective delivery of services in a person-centered environment, aligned with the mission, vision, and strategic goals of the organization.

About the Role:

This leadership position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in seniors' services, long-term care administration, and human resource management. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to develop and implement operational plans that leverage federal and provincial funding subsidies.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic oversight and direction for the operational planning of the 7 Niagara Regional directly operated Long Term Care homes and Assisted Living facilities
  • Develop and implement operational plans to ensure efficient delivery of mandated services and consistency of standards and practices across Seniors Services
  • Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and municipal policy, legislation, and regulations, applicable program standards, including Accreditation
  • Monitor, analyze, and evaluate progress through a comprehensive quality improvement program
  • Identify opportunities for improving Division programs and services delivered, ensuring consistency in methodologies and practices and alignment with Council, Corporate, Department, Division strategies and priorities
  • Prepare and present reports on matters related to Seniors Services responding to queries, providing updates and progress reports, and identifying areas of concern for discussion
  • Participate in and oversee the implementation and evaluation of research projects involving Seniors Services
Accountabilities:
  • Maintain medium-range people resource planning for the division, determining ideal organizational structures, identifying desirable role and skill mix requirements, and ensuring ongoing work quality and deliverability of results
  • Oversee employee performance, career development, and succession planning activities, ensuring open and transparent metrics and processes are developed and implemented
  • Ensure focus is on service excellence, effective communication between leaders and employees, transparency, innovation, and data integrity and workflow integration
  • Develop and manage relationships with Community partners, ensuring long-term care facilities and programs continue to support community needs, and that plans and initiatives are implemented and managed
  • Develop, manage, and administer annual Operating budgets for the division, ensuring support of Council's objectives, financial transparency and accountability, budget adherence, identifying and explaining variances and financial reporting is effectively managed in compliance with corporate financial policies

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications.
