External Communications Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled External Communications Advisor to join our team at Seequent. As a key member of our communications team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing a multi-channel global external communications strategy and plan, aligned to the Seequent brand and corporate story.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive external communications strategy, including media relations, social media, and content creation.
- Identify and assess opportunities for external communications initiatives and campaigns, working with third-party specialists as needed.
- Support the executive team and segment directors on external communications opportunities, including media interviews and speaking engagements.
- Contribute to reputation management, including crisis communications responses as required.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including journalists, influencers, event organizers, and third-party specialists.
- Monitor and analyze media and social media trends, providing insights and recommendations to inform communications strategies.
- Minimum of five years of experience in external communications, either in-house or with an agency.
- Suitable tertiary qualification in a communications discipline or other business-related field.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with excellent media relations skills and a strong storytelling ability.
- Ability to identify, create, and exploit news angles effectively.
- Demonstrable ability to translate complex technical information into engaging and impactful content.
- In-depth experience in media relations, including building relationships with journalists, pitching, and creating and distributing media content.
- Organized self-starter with the ability to juggle competing priorities, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
