External Communications Specialist

As an External Communications Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing a comprehensive global communications strategy that resonates with the Seequent brand and corporate narrative.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in crafting and executing a multi-channel external communications strategy that aligns with the overarching goals of the organization.
- Identify and implement impactful communications initiatives and campaigns, collaborating with external partners as necessary.
- Provide support to the executive leadership and segment directors in seizing external communication opportunities, including media interviews and speaking engagements.
- Contribute to reputation management efforts, including the formulation of crisis communication strategies when required.
- Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including journalists, influencers, event coordinators, and third-party specialists.
- Engage in media and social media monitoring, providing insights and reports on external trends and communication effectiveness.
To excel in this position, candidates should possess:
- A minimum of five years of experience in external communications or a related field, whether in-house or at an agency.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in communications or a related business discipline.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a strong grasp of media relations and public relations.
- The ability to identify and leverage newsworthy angles effectively.
- Proven capability to translate complex technical information into engaging written, visual, and multimedia content.
- Extensive experience in media relations, including relationship building with journalists and the creation and distribution of press materials.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a dynamic environment.
