Personal Support Worker Opportunity

Are you passionate about delivering exceptional care to seniors in a supportive team environment?

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker to join our team at Aspira Rosewood Retirement Living.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide resident-focused care to meet the needs of seniors, promoting their independence and dignity.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including eating, dressing, transferring, toileting, hygiene, grooming, and bathing, as per individual care plans.
  • Encourage residents to wear sensory aids, such as glasses and hearing aids, to enhance their quality of life.
  • Offer cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support to residents, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
  • Provide oral and dental care, ensuring the overall well-being of residents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the smooth operation of our community.
Requirements:
  • Successful completion of a Personal Support Worker program from an approved college or private institution, meeting provincial standards.
  • Continued growth and development through in-service training, seminars, and workshops.
  • Experience working with seniors in a healthcare setting, with knowledge of their unique needs.
  • Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatment and related bedside care.
  • Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy when interacting with residents, families, and visitors.
  • Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check (Ontario applicants) and a Criminal Records Check (British Columbia applicants).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification (BCLS).
