Job Summary:

As a Data Processing Specialist at Giesecke+Devrient, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our data processing activities. Your responsibilities will include monitoring data communication activities, providing level 1 support for data communication and production support, and troubleshooting data processing issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor data communication activities to ensure jobs are received and processed successfully.
  • Provide level 1 support for data communication, production support, and IT service desk related issues.
  • Promptly escalate any data communication issues with customers and ensure they are resolved.
  • Process customer data using customized applications.
  • Troubleshoot data processing issues (level 1).
  • Report sorting and printing for various departments.
  • Ensure incoming and outgoing files are sent on time and without failures.
  • Filing reports, documentation, and creating production tickets.
  • Provide first-level IT support during after-hours for other departments.
  • Manage remakes of print jobs.
  • Backup media handling for offsite storage.
  • Provide basic IT support for resolving computer-related issues.
  • Accommodate help desk in network and application changes.
  • Monitor services and network availability.
  • Assist in data communication configuration for customers.
  • Aid in print job management.

    Qualifications, Experience, and Educational Requirements:

    • Knowledge and experience in computers and application use such as Windows 10 and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, email).
    • Basic data processing experience.
    • Knowledge and experience in laser printers.
    • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
    • Technical experience in troubleshooting basic IT-related issues.
    • Proven interpersonal, analytical, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize with attention to details.
    • Self-motivated team player with ability to interact in a collaborative manner.
    • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure in meeting tight deadlines.
    • Experience in networking such as cabling and understanding basic network switches.
    • Ability to absorb and retain information quickly and also bring new ideas to the team.
    • Knowing basic programming knowledge is an asset.

      Working Conditions:

      • Permanent afternoon shift but ability to work other hours when needed to cover for other team members.
      • Required to cover Saturday data processing from 7 AM to 12 PM on a rotational basis with other team members (once a month).
      • May require to provide support on public holidays.
      • Responsible to maintain confidentiality.
      • Ability to work in a team environment.
      • Available to work rotating shifts (days, afternoons, and midnights).
      • Ability to communicate via phone and email.

        Physical Requirements:

        • Physical bending and frequently lifting of up to 25 lbs.
        • Ability to rack servers and networking devices.
