Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our New Product Development (NPD) Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for completing engineering design tasks and projects from concept to implementation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute and complete mechanical engineering design tasks and project assignments in support of prototyping/testing & product development activities.
  • Coordinate own tasks to ensure deadlines are met per project schedule and applicable lead times.
  • Creation of engineering designs that meet customer specifications, technical summaries, and other contract documents.
  • Perform engineering calculations and analysis to ensure compliance with design criteria and applicable standards and regulations.
  • Complete controlled testing of components and systems to meet contractual obligations and ensure product reliability.
  • Provide engineering support to production, Quality Assurance, customer service support, and other departments as directed by NPD Management.
  • Interact with vendors and customers on design-related issues.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology Diploma, or equivalent.
  • Registered (or eligible to be registered) as a Professional Engineer or Certified Engineering Technologist.
  • 5-10 years design experience and demonstrate ability to achieve performance objectives and targets.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and engineering analysis tools.
  • Project management experience is an asset.
