- Communication and Collaboration: Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including City Council, developers, and other government agencies.
- Project Management: Manage and oversee the delivery of infrastructure projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Team Development: Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team, ensuring that staff have the skills and knowledge required to deliver high-quality engineering services.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure that engineering services are delivered in a way that supports the operational excellence of the City, including the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
- Education: Post-secondary graduate of a Civil Engineering program.
- Registration: Eligible for registration with Engineers Yukon.
- Experience: 8 years of related municipal engineering and infrastructure experience, with at least 4 years at a supervisory or management level.
- Skills: Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills, ability to deal tactfully with elected officials, staff, and the general public, and demonstrated understanding of and knowledge in contract law and construction principles.
- Certifications: Valid Yukon Class 5 Driver's License.
The City of Whitehorse offers a competitive remuneration package, including a $2,900 Yukon Bonus, Performance bonus, and an excellent benefits package, including:
