Job Title: Infrastructure Engineer, Utilities Asset Management

We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Engineer to join our Utilities Asset Management team at the City of Calgary. As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a key role in planning, designing, and implementing Asset Management strategies for our Water Utility lines of service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage projects related to short-term and long-term strategic plans for the Water Utility.
  • Analyze available data to determine optimized plans for future operations, growth, renewal, and replacement.
  • Develop and monitor annual capital Asset Management programs for replacement and rehabilitation of Utility assets.
  • Contribute to the preparation of long-range infrastructure plans, servicing studies, and operational plans.
  • Monitor trends and develop solutions for the Water Utility servicing.
  • Prototype methodologies and tools to support lifecycle analysis and costing, risk analysis, and statistical and data mining techniques.
  • Lead and guide cross-functional team members to utilize Asset Management strategies and best practices.
  • Build and foster networks and relationships with internal technical experts, operations staff, and other business units.
Requirements:
  • A degree in Civil Engineering or a related Engineering field.
  • At least 4 years of relevant professional engineering experience obtained after receiving your P. Eng. Designation and a current licensure as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
  • A strong background and keen interest in water, wastewater, and stormwater utilities.
  • A valid Class 5 Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for business use.
  • Previous experience in municipal engineering, data analytics, Asset and Risk Management, and project management.
