Construction Safety Manager

We are seeking an experienced Construction Safety Manager to join our team at Aecon Concessions. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting a health, safety and environmental culture within our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct site-specific safety orientations for workers, owners, and clients;
- Train supervisors and staff on Aecon's Health, Safety and Environmental Manual;
- Coordinate training on fall protection, confined space entry, traffic control, WHMIS, respiratory protection, emergency response;
- Update Material Safety Data Sheets as required;
- Develop workplace plans, such as emergency evacuations, fire emergencies, traffic controls, and fall protection;
- Distribute safety materials, supplies, and equipment;
- Promote Aecon's safety system to potential industry clients;
- Participate as a management member of Joint Health and Safety Committees;
- Inspect project facilities and recommend corrective actions;
- Coordinate activities of site-safety coordinators;
- Work with the Claims Administrator to assist with workers' compensation claims and associated activities;
- MEDIATE HEALTH AND SAFETY ISSUES FOR RESOLUTION;
- Prepare and assist with external safety audits;
- A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in the construction industry in a Health and Safety role;
- WorkSafeBC Occupational First Aid Attendant Level 3 is required;
- CANADIAN REGISTERED SAFETY PROFESSIONAL (CRSP) AND/OR CERTIFICATE OF RECOGNITION (COR) AUDITOR REQUIRED;
- NATIONAL CONSTRUCTION SAFETY OFFICER (NCSO) IS REQUIRED;
- Ability and experience working night shift;
- Background in Training and/or Education and/or experience delivering EHS Training programs to individuals and groups;
- Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook);
- Excellent meeting and training facilitation skills;
- Adaptable and flexible to an ever-changing environment;
- A valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract;
The estimated salary for this position is $90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
