Key Responsibilities- Manage third-party contracts, including reviewing terms, identifying concerns, and drafting amendments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Draft, review, and manage corporate client contracts, ensuring internal compliance with terms and reviewing client-proposed amendments.
- Act as the company Privacy Officer, reviewing our privacy policy to ensure adherence with regulatory requirements and investigating and resolving any privacy complaints.
- Monitor evolving legislation, court decisions, and industry best practices to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Develop and continuously improve upon training materials to educate team members about regulatory obligations, legal obligations, and risk management controls.
- Provide legal advice balanced with risk management to support strategic decisions and manage the drafting, review, and negotiation of legal documents and agreements.
- Member in good standing of a provincial Bar in Canada, preferably in Alberta.
- At least 4 years of corporate legal experience, gained in-house or with a well-regarded law firm.
- Experience with ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Program) considered an asset.
A competitive salary range of $150,000 - $180,000 per year, based on experience.
