Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Réseau de santé Vitalité (employés sans congé maladies), where you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our patients.
About the RoleThis is a permanent position, working 15 to 37.5 hours per week. The ideal candidate will have a College/CEGEP education and less than 7 months of experience in a related field.
Key Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic tests and operate and monitor respiratory equipment to administer treatments.
- Monitor vital signs during cardiopulmonary surgery and perform artificial respiration and external cardiac massage.
- Operate, monitor, maintain, calibrate and test equipment, and participate in research related to cardiac and pulmonary disorders.
- Assist with the preparation of cardiac catheterization room, prepare specialized catheters and assist cardiologists during catheterization.
- Monitor patients and advise physician of any changes in patients' condition, and perform cardiac and cardiopulmonary stress tests.
- Prepare medications and administer inhaler and other treatments under supervision of cardiologist, and program and monitor an implanted devices during surgery.
- Provide information and care for patients during tests, and assist with transport of high-risk patients.
- Certificate of Registry from the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists - R.R.T., Sleep medicine training, Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certificate, Registration with the Canadian Association of Cardio-Pulmonary Technologists (CACPT), and Neonatal Resuscitation Programs (NRP) Certificate.
- Anesthesia, Critical care, Pediatrics, Cardiopulmonary diagnostics, Pulmonary function, Sleep disorders, and Respiratory home care specialization.
- Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, tight deadlines, manual dexterity, attention to detail, hand-eye co-ordination, combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling, standing for extended periods, and repetitive tasks.

The estimated salary for this position is $45,000-$70,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.
