About the Opportunity


We are seeking a skilled Electrician to join our team at Flex-N-Gate, a leading manufacturer and supplier of components for the automotive industry.



Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices, and related equipment in a manufacturing environment.



Key Responsibilities

  • Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as robots, conveyors, presses, and programmable controllers, following electrical code and blueprints, using hand tools and voltage testers.
  • Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connect cables and wires between machines and equipment.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures.
  • Replace faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, and motors and position sensing devices.
  • May plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
  • May push buttons and press keys on robot controller, teach pendant, and programmable controller to program automated machinery such as robots.


Requirements

  • Red Seal Certificate of Qualification for Electrician
  • Possess a current Provincial Electrician license
  • Ability to work independently in a busy environment
  • Experience with routine maintenance operations
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Knowledge of safe operating procedures
  • Self-starter, with developed analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Computer literate
  • Adhere to requests from supervisors, lead hands
  • Prioritize and perform work with minimal supervision
  • Complete tasks efficiently and timely
  • Must be able to troubleshoot stamping press transfer systems
  • Capability to recognize and understand electrical blueprints and PLC ladder diagrams
  • Ability to interpret logic as required
  • Must be able to work 3 shift operation (Midnights, Afternoons, Days)

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $70,000-$90,000 per year, based on industry standards and location. Additionally, you can expect a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and life insurance, as well as an RRSP retirement savings plan.
