Rainbow Railroad is a leading organization in the global movement to advance and protect the human rights of LGBTQI+ individuals. As Chief Executive Officer, you will play a critical role in helping those most vulnerable find safety from persecution and violence. Our ultimate goal is a world where LGBTQI+ people can live with dignity and without fear of persecution.

About the Role

The Chief Executive Officer will have overall responsibility for Rainbow Railroad's programs, staff, and strategic plan. This includes reviewing and ensuring alignment of opportunities with resources, building trust with the team, and serving as a global ambassador for the organization. The ideal candidate will bring leadership and governance experience, ideally in a nonprofit environment of similar scope and scale that has experienced rapid growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of Rainbow Railroad's strategic plan
  • Build and maintain relationships with global partners and stakeholders
  • Serve as a spokesperson for the organization and a global ambassador
  • Oversee the management of programs and staff
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess outstanding relationship skills, be an exceptional communicator, and have the ability to tell Rainbow Railroad's stories in a compelling way. This is an international search, and applicants meeting these qualifications will be considered. Individuals from LGBTQI+, racially diverse, and/or refugee communities are strongly encouraged to apply.
