Chief Executive Officer

Rainbow Railroad is a leading organization in the global movement to advance and protect the human rights of LGBTQI+ individuals. As Chief Executive Officer, you will play a critical role in helping those most vulnerable find safety from persecution and violence.

About the Role

The Chief Executive Officer will have overall responsibility for Rainbow Railroad's programs, staff, and strategic plan. This includes reviewing and ensuring alignment of opportunities with resources, building trust with a committed team, and serving as a spokesperson for the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of Rainbow Railroad's strategic plan
  • Build and maintain relationships with global partners, stakeholders, and donors
  • Provide leadership and governance experience, ideally in a nonprofit environment of similar scope and scale
  • Communicate effectively with donors, policymakers, and the broader public
Requirements

The ideal candidate will bring leadership and governance experience, ideally in a nonprofit environment of similar scope and scale. They will be an exceptional communicator, able to tell Rainbow Railroad's stories in a compelling way, and possess outstanding relationship skills.
