Control Room Design Specialist

Evans is a leading provider of control room solutions, and we are currently seeking an experienced Control Room Design Specialist to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to work with a dynamic company and contribute to the development of innovative control room designs.
Job DescriptionThe Control Room Design Specialist will play a critical role in working with customers to understand their operational requirements and translate those needs into effective conceptual designs. As a subject matter expert in control rooms, this individual will serve as a trusted advisor to customers, guiding them through the consulting process while staying up-to-date on the latest trends and technologies.
This position requires strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional results. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of control room design principles, including ergonomics, technology integration, and AV/IT systems.
Responsibilities- Develop a deep understanding of key Evans processes and products
- Analyze current control room operating models and infrastructure
- Lead smaller consulting opportunities from start to finish
- Organize and support onsite workshops with customers and stakeholders
- Evaluate and apply various technologies relevant to control rooms
- Design conceptual operational plans
- Prepare detailed consulting reports adhering to control room design standards (ISO 11064)
- Specify customer requirements for consoles, acoustics, lighting, IT, video management, AV systems, and more
- Determine operational inputs and outputs related to AV & technology demands
- Collaborate with the Construction Services team on joint projects and promote other Evans services
- Assist in report and proposal development for clients
- Minimum 2-year diploma in a technical field (architecture, IT, audio visual, interior design, etc.)
- 1-3+ years of experience in a related field, preferably in customer-facing roles
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Travel required (20-30%), potentially international
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Self-motivated, confident, and able to learn quickly
- Effective collaboration and teamwork skills
- Strong organizational abilities and multitasking capabilities
The estimated salary for this role is between $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Compensation also includes a comprehensive benefits package, which may include health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
