Exhibit Control Specialist

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to fill the position of Exhibit Control Manager within our regional court office. As an integral member of our team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and support to court staff, specifically the Court Clerk/Exhibit Control program area.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for the overall administration and supervision of the exhibit control program, including:
- Reviewing and processing documents under the King's Bench Rules, various federal/provincial Statutes/Acts and Regulations
- Registering and issuing all court pleadings and processes in all divisions of the Court
- Entering pertinent information on the Registry system according to a standards manual
- Receiving information, issuing process and determining issuance of subpoenas
- Assuring the accuracy and completeness of court issued documents
- Reviewing and signing court orders for offenders, applicants and respondents
In addition, the incumbent will hold the designation of a Deputy Registrar and Staff Justice of the Peace, with duties including explaining court procedures and preventative justice programs to the public.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be considered for this competition, candidates must possess:
- Experience performing administrative or clerical duties preferably in a legal or court related environment
- Experience working with and processing complex documentation
- Experience interpreting and applying policies or legislation
- Experience providing leadership in a team-based environment
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills using sound judgment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure to meet workload demands or deadlines
- Experience working with confidential information and using discretion when handling private and sensitive material
- Experience working independently with a strong ability to take initiative under minimum supervision

Working ConditionsThis is a regular/full-time position, and the incumbent will be required to travel to other court centres and circuit court locations by car, airplane and other means of transportation with the possibility of overnight stays. The position also requires the ability to work overtime as necessary with little notice.
Salary and BenefitsThe salary range for this position is $62,262.00 - $76,484.00 per year, plus remoteness allowance if applicable. The Manitoba Government has a comprehensive benefit package that includes extended health care, health spending account, dental care, vision care, long term disability insurance, group life insurance, maternity/paternity leave, family related leave, and a defined pension plan.
