At Federated Co-operatives Limited, we are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at the Lloydminster Co-op Marketplace Pharmacy.

Key Responsibilities:

Familiarize yourself with and adhere to the current Standards of Practice for Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians as set by the Alberta College of Pharmacists.

Perform final checks on prescriptions after assessment by a pharmacist, ensuring accuracy and compliance with the Alberta College of Pharmacists' standards.

Troubleshoot billing and insurance issues, as well as pharmacy software.

Receive and transcribe prescriptions from prescribers, assessing them for completeness.

Instruct patients on the use of health aids and devices.

Maintain patient profiles and gather patient information, doctor prescriptions, and other relevant data to generate accurate prescription labels.

Prepare medications under the supervision of a pharmacist, including counting, pouring, weighing, reconstituting, and mixing ingredients as detailed in written compounding instructions.

Compound medications, weighing and measuring ingredients accurately as per written instructions.

Complete third-party insurance forms and other necessary paperwork.

Familiarize yourself with the location and possess basic knowledge of products handled within the pharmacy department and merchandise area.

Provide information about over-the-counter drugs within your scope of practice.

Assist in managing dispensary inventory, including ordering, receiving, and ensuring proper storage and handling.

Deliver prescriptions to patients as required.

Secondary Responsibilities:

Complete cash register transactions.

Answer telephones.

Take inventory counts of medications.

Assist in maintaining housekeeping standards within the dispensary.

Support other areas as assigned.

Requirements:

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Problem-solving and analytical skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and work in a professional manner.

Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

Knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations.

Proficient computer skills.

Attention to detail and excellent time management and prioritizing skills.

Education and Experience:

A certificate or diploma from a training program accredited by the Canadian Council for Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP).

Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the Alberta College of Pharmacists, holding a current practice permit.

A valid Class 5 driver's license.
