Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Payroll Coordinator to join our team in Burlington. As a Payroll Coordinator, you will be responsible for bi-weekly hourly payroll, semi-monthly salary payroll, and monthly reporting of attendance and training hours. You will also be responsible for benefit remittance to insurance carriers, and all administrative matters related to payroll deductions such as WSIB and union dues. Additionally, you will support with year-end payroll processing of T4 slips, and collaborate with the Health & Safety and HR department.

Key Responsibilities
- Bi-weekly hourly payroll: data entry and submission, preparing journal entries, adding information to monthly spreadsheet for benefit remittances, and reporting hours worked.
- Semi-monthly salary payroll: same as above
- Monthly reporting of attendance and training hours
- Benefit remittance to insurance carrier, and all administrative matters (adding or removing coverage, assisting employees with claim submissions)
- Remittance and filings needed for payroll deductions such as WSIB and union dues
- Year End payroll processing of T4 slips
- Support with programs that promote employee engagement and retention
- Administration of the building alarm system
- Support in administration of the phone system
- Orientation for new employees
- Collaborate with Health & Safety and HR department both locally and at US head office

Requirements
- 1-2 years of experience in a payroll or HR position
- Open to recent graduates
- Experience with Dayforce and ERP systems is an asset
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Basic level of Excel
- Organizational and attention to detail skills required to perform activities in a deadline driven environment, working with constant interruptions
- Excellent communications skills, written and verbal
- Comfortable in a manufacturing environment
