About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker to join our team at Nurse Next Door - Richmond Hill, ON. As a Personal Support Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our clients, enabling them to live safely and comfortably in their own homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personalized care and support to clients, including meal preparation, light housekeeping, and companionship.
  • Assist clients with their Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as transfers, ambulation, and exercises.
  • Execute client care plans as outlined by our Care Designers, ensuring the highest level of care and safety.
  • Meet the safety needs of clients, using equipment safely and properly.
  • Document client care and progress accurately and thoroughly.
Requirements
  • Valid certificate for PSW, HCA, or foreign-trained nurse.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to identify and report client care concerns to Care Designers.
  • Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search (updated every 5 years).
  • Negative TB test (updated every 5 years).
  • Fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
  • 2 professional references.
  • CPR certification.
  • Cell phone with data and understanding of online applications software.
  • Ability to speak and write in English (other languages an asset).
  • Valid SIN and eligibility to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Italian, Greek speaking caregiver or experience caring for family/culture.
  • Previous experience in a caregiving role.
  • Experience with Mechanical Lifts and Transfers.
  • Experience with individuals with Dementia and/or Alzheimer's.
  • Experience caring for individuals with limited to no mobility.
