About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at ParaMed Home Health Care. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing community visits to assess the abilities and needs of individuals, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and equipment vendors to facilitate function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients' abilities and needs, identifying areas for improvement and developing personalized plans to address these needs.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare workers, community resources, and other stakeholders to provide comprehensive care and support to clients.
  • Analyze the physical, cultural, social, and institutional environmental impact on occupational performance and engagement issues, developing strategies to address these challenges.
  • Develop and implement client-centered plans, adjusting services as needed to reflect the client's evolving needs and goals.
  • Demonstrate effective problem-solving and judgment, using evidence-based practices to address client needs and improve outcomes.
  • Engage clients in a collaborative approach, building rapport and trust, and achieving a mutual understanding and agreement related to services to be provided.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date professional client records, adhering to ParaMed's policies and regulatory standards.
Requirements
  • Registration with the provincial College of Occupational Therapists (in good standing)
  • Accepting New Graduates Licensed
  • ADP authorization considered an asset
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of applicable community resources available for clients and families
  • Current certification (within the past 12 months) of First Aid and CPR
  • A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Able to provide a current, clear Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS)
