Job Title: Desktop Support Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Specialist to join our IT team. The successful candidate will provide technical support to our organization's users and devices, resolving technical issues and maintaining in-depth technical knowledge on our company's applications and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Resolving technical support issues at site and from our office.
  2. Maintaining an in-depth technical knowledge on our company's applications and services.
  3. Analyzing, documenting, and escalating critical issues to appropriate support groups.
  4. Maintaining technical expertise and knowledge regarding upgrades and new hardware and software brought into the company.
  5. Reviewing calls through our support system.
  6. Monitoring and ensuring timely escalation of customer issues to internal organizations or vendors.
  7. Diagnosing and repairing hardware problems, setting up, configuring, and testing equipment.
  8. Performing preventative maintenance and installing upgrades and options.
  9. Installing operating systems and configuring PCs according to company standards for deployment as required.
  10. Laptop/Desktop/Phone/Tablet device issuance and support.
  11. Support of various line of business specific equipment.
  12. Working on new technology rollouts and training users on various systems.
  13. Documenting issues to the ticketing system and knowledge base.

Working Conditions:

  1. Primarily standard office environment with some support of field office and plant operations.
  2. Fully working in the office.
  3. May be required to work weekends or evenings.

Requirements:

  1. Requires 3 years of related experience.
  2. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  3. May hold Industry Certifications such as A+, MCP, MCSE, MCITP EA/SA, CCNA/CCNP, VCP, ITIL.
  4. Experience with switches including routing configuration is an asset.
  5. Graduation from a recognized post-secondary program is an asset.
  6. Able to troubleshoot various technical issues.
  7. Excellent knowledge of Windows 10-11.
  8. Excellent knowledge of MS Office M365 applications.
  9. An understanding of enterprise mobile support and mobile device OS and applications.
  10. Understanding of network configuration and protocols.
  11. Knowledge of automated software deployment methods and SCCM.
  12. Strong PC hardware knowledge and skills.
  13. Ability to travel locally.
  14. Flexible, self-starter/works on own initiative in a fast-paced environment.
  15. Strong documentation skills.
  16. Strong team player.
  17. Ability to engage in multiple concurrent complex projects.
