Position Overview:

The Northwest Employment Works is seeking a skilled District Native Child and Family Counsellor to provide holistic clinical assessments, planning, treatment, and counselling services to children and their families. The selected candidate will also offer consultations regarding community behavioural assessments and intervention.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct clinical assessments to identify family needs and develop comprehensive plans for treatment and support
  • Provide one-on-one and group counselling sessions to promote healthy relationships and well-being within families
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop effective treatment plans
  • Participate in community outreach programs to raise awareness about mental health services and promote access to care

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A minimum two-year Social Work Diploma or related field diploma is required
  • A three-year BSW Degree is preferred
  • Two or more years of experience in providing counselling services to Anishinabek children, youth, or families is essential
  • Candidates without specific education qualifications but with relevant experience and other academic qualifications will be considered
  • A satisfactory Criminal Records Search and valid Standard First Aid/CPR Certificate are mandatory
  • Ability to work flexible hours as determined by the District Mental Health and Addictions Services Manager
  • A Class "G" Driver's License and personal vehicle with $1 million liability insurance are required

Compensation Package:

We offer a competitive hourly wage of $28.05 per hour, based on your skills and experience. You will work 32.5 hours per week, providing a stable income and opportunities for professional growth.
