Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Wastewater Collection System Maintenance Specialist. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of wastewater and stormwater collection systems, as well as excellent technical and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and resolve issues with the wastewater and stormwater collection system, including sewer backups, odors, and flooding.
  • Perform repairs, maintenance, and installations on the collection system and other system appurtenances.
  • Conduct inspections and monitoring of the system to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and policies.
  • Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to manage wastewater cleaning and video contracts, including inspection and reporting.
  • Provide technical support and training to new staff members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the maintenance and operation of the wastewater and stormwater collection system.
Requirements
  • Current valid Wastewater Collection Licence - Operator in Training (OIT) with the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP).
  • Written Class 1 Wastewater Collection Licence with the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) Certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in wastewater and stormwater collection system maintenance or investigation.
  • Ability to work shifts, including weekends and nights, with minimal supervision.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 60 kg and work in confined spaces.
  • Excellent communication and technical skills, with proficiency in Microsoft software and asset management systems.
Working Conditions

This is a physically demanding role that requires working in a variety of environments, including outdoors and in confined spaces. The successful candidate must be able to lift heavy equipment and work at heights.
