Capital Maintenance Projects Manager Position

About the Role
As a key member of the Facilities Operations team, the Manager, Capital Maintenance Projects will play a vital role in ensuring the effective management and maintenance of Douglas College's physical plant infrastructure. This position requires a highly skilled and experienced professional with expertise in capital project management, facilities infrastructure renewal, and physical plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management: The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and managing multiple projects simultaneously, including capital renewal and maintenance projects, renovations, and expansions.
- Physical Plant Infrastructure: The Manager will oversee the effective planning, management, and maintenance of the College's physical plant, including building automation systems, energy management, and cyclical maintenance.
- Leadership and Strategy: As a leader in the Facilities Operations team, the Manager will provide strategic direction and guidance to staff, promote a culture of continuous improvement, and develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field, with minimum 5-7 years of experience in a complex multi-location environment.
- Proven track record of capital project management experience in facilities infrastructure and renovation projects.
- Strong knowledge of building equipment, construction and maintenance trades, municipal codes, and energy efficiency programs.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
