Data Center Security Specialist

Amazon's Infrastructure Physical Security Team is seeking a skilled Data Center Security Specialist to drive operational security excellence in a control room setting. As a key member of the team, you will provide support to on-site security and customers by completing virtual security tasks via a chat/phone system. Your vigilance will drive a culture of quality, support, and proactive identification of physical security vulnerabilities for remediation. You will interface directly with customers from across the United States, Canada, Brazil, and Mexico, extracting metrics and observing improvements by looking at available data. You will write and implement security procedures and directives, reports, develop presentations, and advise leadership on the status of physical security operations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support daily operations of Data Centers/Colo environments by completing virtual security tasks involving security systems and access control.
  2. Drive security awareness campaigns aimed at enhancing security vigilance and effectiveness.
  3. Experience with workflow ticketing and extraction development of performance metrics.
  4. Lead security investigations across campus facilities.
  5. As this is a GovCloud region, the selected candidate requires US Citizenship or equivalent status.
  6. May be tasked with working different work shifts consisting of Day, Evening, Overnight, and weekend shifts.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  1. 1+ year of experience working in a standards-based professional work environment.
  2. 1+ year of experience collecting, analyzing, and utilizing data to drive process and system improvement, and effect quality assurance.
  3. 1+ year of experience with Microsoft Office tools.
  4. Familiarity with various Access/Intrusion control Systems in a control room setting environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Associates degree or higher and/or equivalent professional experience in corporate or government security environment.
  2. 2+ years of experience with excellent verbal and written communications skills in a professional work setting.
  3. 2+ years of experience writing detailed reports.
  4. 1+ year of experience with Asana.
  5. 2+ years of working in a security-related field with electronic security systems.
  6. 2+ years of root-cause analysis experience.
  7. Familiarity with security program automation and implementation.
  8. Ability to interpret program objectives, develop project schedules, and manage adherence to established timetables.
  9. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals regarding physical security standards and policies.
