Job Description

Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our Engineering Team for maintaining and operating the Canada Line Light Rail system. The successful candidate will be responsible for the complete lifecycle maintenance plans for assigned assets, including ownership and accountability for all maintenance plan documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, plan, schedule and execute Major Maintenance activities for assigned assets.
  • Maintain Asset Management Plans to ensure that documentation is accurate, contemporary, and modified to reflect updates and refurbishment.
  • Identify and champion initiatives to optimize the Asset Maintenance Plans in an effort to optimize Life Cycle Costs (LCCs) for assigned assets.
  • Assist with the development of the Canada Line Annual and Five-Year maintenance plans.
  • Act as the primary facilitator for engineering projects relating to assigned assets, including system improvements, refurbishment, capital asset replacement, etc.
  • Manage configuration control of assigned systems and monitor compliance with the appropriate procedures.
  • Collaborate with all stakeholders to resolve technical issues, project issues using sound project and engineering practices.

Requirements:

  • Engineering Degree and registration, or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in the Province of British Columbia.
  • Experience working on large transportation operations and maintenance projects is preferred.
  • Project Management experience with Professional designation is an asset.
  • A combination of education and experience may also be considered.
