Key Responsibilities:- Perform abdominal, obstetrical, pelvic, peripheral vascular, and small parts ultrasound examinations, adhering to patient safety protocols.
- Receive and complete requisitions, enter relevant data into the diagnostic imaging information system, and prepare patients for specific procedures.
- Conduct examinations utilizing ultrasound and Doppler techniques, participating in committees and research projects as assigned.
- Graduate of a recognized training program in Medical Diagnostic Sonography, certified with Sonography Canada or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), or certified with Sonography Canada and passed the Sonography Canada Skills Assessment (CCSA).
- Demonstrated knowledge of theory and practice for Sonography procedures, including abdominal, obstetrical, pelvic, peripheral vascular, and small parts.
- Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic techniques, safe work procedures with diagnostic sonographic and medical imaging equipment, and ability to perform sonographic examinations in compliance with departmental standards.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, coworkers, physicians, and other healthcare staff, as well as operate related equipment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, establish workload priorities, and demonstrate computer skills, including the use of a computerized client care information system.
