Job Summary:

Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Manager to join our team at the Courtyard by Marriott Nanaimo in British Columbia. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel's maintenance and repair functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the maintenance and repair of hotel facilities, equipment, and systems to ensure optimal performance and guest satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and programs to prevent equipment failures and minimize downtime.
  • Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities and equipment to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inventory, and equipment maintenance.
  • Collaborate with hotel staff and management to ensure seamless communication and coordination of maintenance activities.
  • Develop and implement energy-saving initiatives to reduce utility consumption and costs.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to maintenance and safety.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field (e.g., engineering, facilities management) preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in maintenance and repair, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with hotel staff, management, and vendors.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and work at heights, as required.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
