Design Engineer for In-Service Aircraft Support

About this role:

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join our team in Mirabel. As a key member of our engineering group, you will play a vital role in supporting a commercial aircraft program as a Design Engineer specialist for In-service support.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assess structural damage to the aircraft and respond to grounded (AOG) situations and customer engineering requests.
  • Investigate causes of in-service problems, resolve source failures, and find effective solutions.
  • Propose repair solutions aligning with sector regulations and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with the stress department and other specialists on Aero, Materials & Processes.
  • Prepare design reports in English for certification purposes.
  • Design generic repairs for metallic and composite structures.
  • Participate in designing and supporting structural modifications.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in repairs for the aerospace industry (In-service, MAP/MRB).
  • Good knowledge of CATIA V5 (preferably R19) and Enovia.
  • Excellent knowledge of aircraft structure.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Upbeat personality with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a high sense of dedication, and willingness to accept responsibilities in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Familiarity with MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills; French is an asset.
  • Detailed knowledge of airline operation, engineering, and maintenance is an asset.
