Job Title: Legal Counsel - Compliance and Regulatory Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel to join our team as a Compliance and Regulatory Expert. As a key member of our Legal and Compliance department, you will play a critical role in ensuring our organization's compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice on regulatory and compliance matters to the business
  • Conduct routine checks on compliance with various elements of the company's business
  • Manage and respond to Regulatory requests for information ensuring responses comply with applicable privacy laws
  • Lead SOX compliance initiatives for the legal department
  • Collaborate with external legal firms with respect to any litigation matters
  • Update precedent contracts and contract management processes
  • Complete other legal review and drafting requirements for the business
Requirements:
  • Law Degree, Member of a Provincial Bar in good standing in Alberta
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Compliance & Regulatory
  • Knowledge of SOX experience is an asset
  • A self-motivated professional with Canadian law experience who can work well independently and as part of a team
