About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our team at Loblaw Digital. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying advanced machine learning models and algorithms to solve complex business problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of machine learning models and algorithms to drive business growth and improve customer experiences.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical expertise and leadership in machine learning projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate machine learning solutions into various product features.
  • Work with large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive decision-making.
  • Implement and optimize machine learning models for high availability, scalability, and performance in production environments.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning technologies and apply them to improve our systems.
  • Participate in continuous learning and knowledge sharing to ensure the team is always at the cutting edge of technology.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in software development with at least 5-7 years of hands-on expertise in machine learning.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.
  • Proficiency in machine learning frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn.
  • Strong programming skills in languages like Python, Java, or similar.
  • Experience with data handling, preprocessing, and pipeline development, including proficiency in SQL/NoSQL databases.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets and identify trends and patterns.
  • Knowledge of AI technologies, including Gen AI, LLMs, and semantic search.
  • Strong understanding of security architecture and data privacy regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for continuous learning and innovation.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of presenting technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
