We are seeking an experienced Analyst, Real Estate Finance & Capital Markets to join our team at OMERS. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a vital role in underwriting, developing, and executing financing transactions for our North American business.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your financial expertise and passion for real estate to drive business growth and success. You will work closely with our REF team, Investment teams, Asset Management, and Development teams to develop underwriting assumptions, asset-level or portfolio-level financing metrics/analysis, and create marketing materials to source debt capital from lenders.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in reviewing financing documents, including term sheets, commitment letters, loan documents, and hedging documents;
  • Drafting presentations and memos for Investment Committee and executive submissions;
  • Collaborating with asset management, legal, accounting, reporting, and compliance teams to evaluate and manage compliance risk in the portfolio;
  • Building relationships with key internal partners to ensure strong communication channels exist;
About You:

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • A University degree in finance, business, commerce, or accounting;
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation preferred or in progress;
  • At least 1-3 years of experience in commercial real estate borrowing or lending in a large organization;
  • Superior Excel skills and complex financial modeling abilities;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to build effective relationships with internal stakeholders;
