Job Summary

Peak Campus is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Community Assistant to join our team. As a Community Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in creating a welcoming and inclusive living environment for our residents. Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional support and services to our residents, ensuring their overall satisfaction and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish a rapport with residents, making them feel comfortable approaching you with concerns and ideas.
  • Assist residents in transitioning to the community, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Moderate conflicts and disagreements between residents, promoting a harmonious living environment.
  • Develop trust and relationships with residents while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Educate residents on their rights and responsibilities within the community.
  • Initiate and implement regular social, recreational, and educational programs or activities for residents.
  • Refer residents to college resources for health, counseling, academic, or personal concerns.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of programs, working collaboratively with staff and residents.
  • Keep residents informed of community and campus activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong customer service skills and a desire to help others.
  • Ability to effectively solve problems and communicate information clearly and accurately.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
  • Strong communication skills and a desire to help prospective residents find their next home.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as required.

Working Environment

The Community Assistant will work in a fast-paced office environment, interacting with residents, staff, and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.

Physical and Mental Demands

The Community Assistant will be required to sit for long periods, lift up to 14 kg, and work extended periods in front of a computer screen. The role may also involve after-hours emergency response duties, requiring the ability to work under pressure and manage stress effectively.
