North Island College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Trainer – Counterbalanced Forklift Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training programs and preparing individuals for the Counterbalanced Forklift certification.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver comprehensive training materials for instructional environments.
- Utilize a variety of approaches and materials to address different learning needs and promote student success.
- Teach in assigned subject areas and include all required subject matter or skill activity in courses and course outlines.
- Direct student learning in a positive, supportive, and caring environment, and be available to students regularly during scheduled office hours and classroom hours.
- Clearly communicate learning outcomes for programs and courses, and the way in which learners will be evaluated against those outcomes.
- Design and conduct evaluations or appraisals of students, and keep students informed of their progress.
- Submit grades in a timely manner, and maintain records of student enrollment and achievement.
- Be aware of and work within College educational policies, and contribute to the development and achievement of the College's goals and objectives.
- Advise the Department Chair regarding enrollment management strategies, and advise on health and safety concerns.
- Demonstrate knowledge of computer applications appropriate to the teaching environment, and maintain continuous professional development of competencies and qualifications.
- Participate actively as a contributing member of the College community on College committees and other College-wide activities.
- IVES TRAINING GROUP Certified Trainer – Counterbalanced Forklift Certification.
- Experience teaching trades professionals, and a Provincial Instructor's Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years industry experience as a Counterbalanced Forklift Operator.
- Experience setting up training programs, and proficiency with MS Office software applications.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, and proficiency with learning technologies and digital tools.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to plan and prioritize, and efficiently meet deadlines.
