As a key member of our team at Miller Paving South Western Ontario, the Project Superintendent will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of our construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project plans and schedules.
- Lead productivity initiatives, monitoring work performance and efficiency of employees and subcontractors to optimize project outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of construction plans and manage subcontractor activities to ensure seamless project execution.
- Ensure construction compliance with design requirements and quality standards.
- Implement and maintain a safe work environment, adhering to safety protocols and record-keeping requirements.
- Document and report incidents, and advise management of potential problems or schedule difficulties.
- Perform additional assignments as directed by superiors or required for successful project completion.
- Construction-related degree or equivalent technical training and experience.
- Minimum 5 years of construction experience in road construction, fine grading, culvert installation, or related activities.
- Experience with GPS survey and grade control systems is an asset.
- Effective leadership skills and ability to engage and manage crews.
- Advanced knowledge of construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control, and engineering drawings.
- Computer knowledge, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to assume responsibility, interface, and communicate with others.
- Valid Class G License and clean driver's abstract.
- Willingness to travel and live according to project location.
