Job Summary:

The Accounting Technician will be responsible for performing various accounting tasks, including calculating and preparing cheques for payroll, calculating fixed assets and depreciation, and maintaining financial records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledgers and financial statements.
  • Payroll Processing: Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll, ensuring timely and accurate payment to employees.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Accounting Systems: Maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
  • Reporting: Prepare financial reports, including trial balance and statistical reports.
Requirements:
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
  • Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Windows, and MS Office.
Work Environment:

The Accounting Technician will work in a fast-paced environment, requiring strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Language:
