Senior Production Planner

Maple Leaf Foods is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Production Planner to join their team. As a key member of the Heritage Planning team, you will play a vital role in commissioning the Maple Leaf Heritage plant and supporting process improvements across the Maple Leaf Prepared Meats network.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and communicate daily production plans for Heritage packaging and offline processing departments
- Manage the allocation of Heritage raw materials and capacity for the current + 7-day horizon using SAP Dis-Assembly Planning and ePPDS planning software
- Optimize raw material and finished goods utilization throughout the ML Prepared meats network, including coordination of transfers between Heritage and other MLF facilities
- Maintain and improve production planning tools and processes
- Ensure accuracy of master data in SAP relevant to yield and capacity planning
- Collaborate with Production, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Sales teams as the facility point of contact for fulfillment execution issues
- Implement weekly price changes and sales directives
- Drive process improvements using production planning metrics (utilization, quality)
- Communicate daily special shipping requirements to the warehouse to meet customer deadlines
- Support inventory management for customer date matrices
- Provide backup coverage for the production planning team and planning manager
- Experience in a commissioning/start-up manufacturing setting
- Comprehensive understanding of the prepared meats Supply Chain from live procurement through to the end consumer
- Clear understanding of coordinating raw materials supply, forecasting, supply planning, and production planning
- Proficient in MS Office Software (particularly Excel)
- Experience using SAP (or similar ERP system)
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a related role
- Excellent analytical, planning, and organizational skills
- Ability to learn, adapt, and solve problems in a fast-paced environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
